Rahaeng Market, located on the connection of Rahaeng canal and Phra Udom canal, has become famous for more than 100 years. At the market, plenty of old-style houses can be seen along both sides of the canal. In the old days, boat and train were major types of transportation. The first railway line was opened between Rahaeng Market and Bang Bua Thong in Nonthaburi province. However, as the development of transportation existed, people had changed to travel by cars and other wheeled vehicles, causing the rail transport to shut down its operations.
